Posted: 02 Jul 2018

The Board of Commissioners visited staff of Forestry Commission in the Ashanti Region at the Resource Management Support Center (RMSC) and the Ashanti Regional Office.  The purpose of the visit was to know the work staff in the Ashanti Region and also to interact and identify all impediments in their work. The director of RMSC Mr. Edward Obiaw introduced the management and staff of the Ashanti Region present at the meeting.

The Chief Executive of Forestry Commission applauded the staff for the good work they have done under strenuous circumstances. He however sounded a word of caution to staff engaging in nefarious activities to desist from doing so otherwise they will be sanctioned. He also congratulated staff for working hard to bring down cases of illegal logging and lumbering activities. The Chairman of the FC Board of Commissioners, Gen. (RTD) Joseph Odei also praised staff for their excellent performance and further advise that Forest management demands a lot of work and as such, staff should get down to work and make sure the right things are done to ensure restoration of Ghana’s Forests. He assured staff that “we as a board will do our best to help the Chief Executive”
