FC SIGNS MOU WITH OWIRENKIRIMAN TRADITIONAL COUNCIL AND PRAXIS AFRICA.

The Forestry Commission together with the Owirenkiriman Traditional Council and Praxis Africa have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on Thursday, 4th April 2019, to create additional income to farmers within the area through establishment of plantations.

The goal of the Owirenkyiriman Forest Restoration Project seeks to address issues of forest cover, carbon sequestration, improve livelihood of the rural communities and woodfibre with its accompanied production of other forest goods and services.

Mr. Allotey said the MoU becomes operational immediately after the signing ceremony and will remain so until 2024.

"We are therefore looking forward to more of such positive collaborations to help Ghana achieve the commitments we have dedicated ourselves to mitigate carbon emissions and reduction of global warming" he said.
