The Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources and Forestry Commission in collaboration with other stakeholders joined the world to celebrate the International Day of Forests on March 21. It is a day set aside since 2012, by the United Nations (UN) General Assembly to raise awareness on the importance of all types of frests and trees outside forests.

The newly-appointed Chief Executive of the Forestry Commission (FC), Mr. Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie, is set to start work fully on Monday. Mr. Afriyie, popularly called 'Sir John,' replaced Mr. Samuel Afari Dartey, after President Nana Akufo-Addo, named him on March 13, 2017.
