The Chief Executive of the Forestry Commission, Mr. Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie together with his Deputy, Mr. John M. Allotey, executive management team and some commissioners of forestry commission, Chiefs and traditional leaders of Klagon, officials of the Tema Development Company, the Tema West Municipal Assembly, and Security Services paid a visit to the Sakumo Ramsar site  to ascertain the level of encroachment on the Ramsar Site, and take informed decisions on how to halt further encroachment of the site.

H.E Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has launched the Youth in Afforestation programme at the Kumasi Jubilee Park in Kumasi. Speaking at the launch, President Akufo-Addo announced that 20,000 youth were going to be deployed to plant trees to afforest the nation’s forests, and expressed the optimism that in the next ten years, the trees would have been nurtured to grow to increase the Ghanaian forest cover, thereby reducing forest degradation and deforestation

The Board of Commissioners visited staff of Forestry Commission in the Ashanti Region at the Resource Management Support Center (RMSC) and the Ashanti Regional Office.  The purpose of the visit was to know the work staff in the Ashanti Region and also to interact and identify all impediments in their work.
