The Chief Executive of Forestry Commission, Mr. John Allotey, has addressed staff of the Western North Region during a durbar which was  graced by the presence of the Deputy Minister for  Lands & Natural Resources in charge of Lands and Forestry, Hon. Benito Owusu Bio; Tetrete Okuamoah Sekyim II, Chairman, and members of the Forestry Commission Board.

Mr. Allotey   informed staff that the visit was a sequel to the last one held in November 2021, where he promised staff he would come again to meet with them to address all their grievances. He congratulated staff for doing their best to protect the forest reserves in the Region, at times, at the peril of their lives and assured them that staff numbers will be beefed up make their work more effective.

Hon. Owusu Bio applauded staff of the Region and mentioned he was highly impressed with the work done so far, in the midst of all the threats being posed by illegal operators in the area. He assured them that plans are under way to beef up security in the area to ensure their safety as they carry out their day to day activities in the field. 

Tetrete Okuamoah Sekyim II commended staff for doing their utmost best to protect the forest reserves in the Region. He said the visit to the Region is an eye opener and the Board will strategise and address all the concerns of staff, especially in the area of security.
