The Forestry Commission (FC) Governing Board in the company of Hon.
Martha Kwayie-Manu and Mr. Nyadia Sulemana Nelson, both Deputy Chief
Executives, visited the Kumasi Zoological Gardens. The team was led by
Mr. John Allotey, the Chief Executive of Forestry Commission.
The visit was to give the Board a first time tour of the nation’s premier
Zoo. Dr. Meyir Yiryele Ziekah, the Manager, briefed the Board about the
Zoo and conducted them round the various cages of the reptiles, rodents,
birds and mammals. The Board and Deputy Chief Executives watched on
with so much admiration as the camels were fed.
The Board then met with staff of the Zoo to encourage them to work
harder to preserve wildlife for future generations and also listened to their
grievances
