Mrs. Edith Abruquah has been appointed as the Acting Executive Director (ED) of the Forest Services Division (FSD). With 30 years experience on the job, she has broken through the glass ceiling as the first woman to become an Executive Director in the history of Forestry commission.
Over the past three decades, she has risen from the ranks of District Manager of the Tema District, Regional manager of Eastern, Ashanti, and Greater Accra, and Director of Operations, Natural Forests, at the Headquarters which has given her good exposure on forest practices in and out of Ghana.
Her compassion, enthusiasm, level headedness and humility towards people and her work has garnered her so much respect that it comes as no surprise that she has been chosen to occupy such high office.
Mrs. Abruquah holds a B.Sc. in Natural Resource Management (Forestry option) from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, and a Master of Forestry (Social Forestry) from Lakehead University, Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada.
Mrs. Abruquah says she is really humbled by this appointment and will use her excellent interpersonal skills, and policy of inclusivity and the ability to build relationships to enhance the image of FSD.
We wish her all the best on her new appointment.
