Members of the Forestry Commission Board have planted tree seedlings at the Ghana Seismic Center, near the Forestry Commission Headquarters.
The Board came together to officially plant, to mark the Green Ghana Day, and also drum home the message that, tree planting is not a day’s affair.
Tetrete Okuamoah Sekyim II, Chairman of the Board, who is also the Omanhene of Wassa Amenfi Traditional Area explained that June 10 was the kick off of a massive action towards the restoration of the country’s lost vegetative cover. He emphasised that, even after Green Ghana Day, there is the need to keep planting till the vegetative cover is restored.
He concluded by advising Ghanaians to nurture the trees planted, care for them till maturity and ensure the work done yields expected results.
