The new Divisional Chief of Sakumono , Nii Angenu Alabi Gbene III, and his delegation, paid a courtesy call on the Forestry Commission (FC).
This meeting was to introduce the newly enstooled Chief to FC for a peaceful and cordial interaction as well as build on previous engagements by his predecessors.
Mr. Nyadia Sulemana Nelson, the Deputy Chief Executive of Forestry Commission, in delivering the welcome address on behalf of the Chief Executive, Mr. John Allotey, congratulated the Chief on his ascension to the stool and welcomed the delegation to FC. He made mention that, the doors of FC are always opened to them for discussions and deliberations that will enrich the work of the Commission and the Sakumono Township.
Mr. Samuel Carter, the Spokesperson of the Delegation , outlined some issues the Chief would want to pursue in which he believes the FC will support, as FC is a critical stakeholder.
He said it is the hope of the new Chief and his sub chiefs that both the FC and the people of Sakumono will work on the continual protection of the Sakumo Ramsar Site for its greater benefits for this generation and future ones.
Mr. Sulemana Nelson thanked the Chief and his delegation for the continuous support they give the Commission in the protection of the Ramsar Site and assured that FC will continue working earnestly to protect it.
