The Director of the Forestry Commission Training Centre,(FCTC), Dr. Andy Osei Okrah, paid an official visit to the Western Region. The occasion was to engage with key stakeholders and share the new vision of FCTC. His visit to the Timber Industry Development Division (TIDD), in particular, was aimed at further reinforcing collaboration and building stronger relationships with the Division, especially in industry-related skills development.
A significant part of the visit included a familiarisation tour at the head office of the TIDD. This allowed Dr. Okrah to meet with some of the senior management of the Division, including the Director of Operations, Dr. Richard Gyimah; Research and Statistics Manager, Mr. Samuel Mawuli Doe; Finance Manager, Mr. Raymond Amoah; HR/Administrative Manager, Mr Samuel Agyei Kusi; Takoradi Area Manager, Mr. Richard Kasore, and other staff. The engagement was not only focused on skills development but it also highlighted the importance of training programs designed to address current challenges in the forestry sector and promote sustainable practices.
Additionally, Dr. Andy Okrah stated that FCTC has initiated several training programs to support middle-level managers, ensuring that they are well-equipped to perform their roles, thus contributing effectively to the timber industry’s growth and sustainability.
