Has an attractive variety of savanna grassland with riverine woodland, and isolated hills covered with dry forest. In this reserve, you can find, apart from lions and elephants, a variety of buffaloes, antelopes, baboons, and smaller mammals in the reserve. The bird world is worth seeing here. The reserve also boasts many butterfly species.

LOCATION

The reserve can be located at Abutia-Kloe in the Ho district. It is about 21km away from Ho which happens to be both the district and regional capital.

It has an area of 325km2.

VEGETATION

The resource reserve is a mixture of riverine gallery forest and savannah grasslands with hills.

KEY FAUNA

It has twenty species of mammals including Kob, Antelope, Duikers, Buffalo, Green monkey, Patas monkey.

From Accra, Kalapka Resource Reserve can be reached through Juapong on a branch off the Accra to Ho road. The Ho to Abutia-Kloe road through Sokode can access the reserve.
