The Timber Industry Development Division has organized a 3-day performance review meeting for Heads of Department, Unit and Area Managers at the Forestry Commission Training Center (FCTC), Ejisu in the Ashanti region.
The objective of the meeting was to give the opportunity to all the Heads to make submissions on their operational activities for 2023, challenges in their respective jurisdictions and their action plans for the year 2024.
Dignitaries present at the review meeting were the Deputy Chief Executive of the Commission who is also acting as the Executive Director of TIDD, Hon. Martha Kwayie Manu; Ag. Director, RMSC, Mr. Yakubu Mohammed; FCTC, Dr. Nana Owusu Ansah; Director for Plantations, FSD, Mrs. Valerie Fummeh-Nassah and Corporate HR, Manager, Mr Mitchell Attipoe.
Hon. Martha Kwayie Manu in her opening remarks welcomed all participants as the Division reviews its annual performance. She said the meeting was a pivotal moment for the Division to assess their progress and address areas where we can further excel. She urged participants to engage in constructive dialogue and looking forward to a productive and insightful meeting.
The Area Managers presented individual performance reports, showcasing their accomplishments, challenges, areas for growth and action plans for the year under review. The Heads of Department also presented a constructive dialogue on performance gaps and improvement opportunities. Performance metrics such as production output, quality standards and safety records were reviewed in detail. Training and development needs were identified based on skills assessment and future industry trends.
The Q&A session was focused on optimizing operational processes, enhancing efficiency and ensuring compliance with industry regulations. It was also centered on sharing best practices and fostering cross-functional synergy.
A special segment of the performance review meeting was a financial training session aimed to enhance the financial literacy and skills of participants. The training provided a valuable opportunity for them to enhance their financial accumen, enabling them to make informed decisions,drive financial performance and contribute to the strategic success of the Division. The interactive nature of this session fostered engagement, knowledge sharing and a deeper understanding of financial principles and practices.
Dr. Richard Gyimah, Director of Operations at the end of presentations indicated that the 3-day performance review meeting provided a platform for aligning departmental objectives, assessing individual contributions and fostering a culture of continuous improvement within the Division. It emphasized collaborations, accountability and strategic planning to drive operational excellence and sustainable growth.
Hon.Martha Kwayie Manu in her closing remarks expressed her heartfelt gratitude to each and everyone for being part of this meeting.
