On behalf of the Wyoming Game Wardens Association (USA), Dr. Godfred Bempah from the Operations Unit of the Wildlife Division (WD), has donated three (3) brand new motorbikes to the Wildlife Division of the Forestry Commission (FC).
The Wyoming Outdoor Weekend and Expo is a free family- friendly event celebrated in May every year to outdoor recreation in Wyoming. As part of their set goals to inspire interest in and conservation of Wyoming’s wildlife, the Forestry Commission was invited to participate at the event, of which, Dr. Bempah was chosen to be the representative.
At the event, two (2) participants; the Wyoming Game Wardens Association and the Forestry Commission interacted and a relationship was established which bore support in the form of a cash donation to the latter for the purchase of the motorbikes to bolster wildlife conservation efforts in Ghana.
Mr. John Allotey, Chief Executive, FC, received the motorbikes with enthusiasm, handing them over to Dr. Joseph Boakye, Esq., Executive Director, WD, while extending sincere thanks to the Association for their invaluable support.
He mentioned that the initiative not only enhances the operational capabilities of the Wildlife Division but also symbolises a united front in the fight for Wildlife protection.
Dr. Joseph Boakye, thanked the Association for their kind gesture and promised to ensure that the motorbikes are properly maintained and deployed to the right places. Adding that, it will go a long way to facilitate the activities of the Division.
Mr. George Wireku Brobbey, FC Board member; Mr. Hugh Brown, Executive Director, Forest Services Division (FSD); and other staff of the Commission were present at the event.
