The Public Relations wing of the Wildlife Division (WD) of the Forestry Commission (FC), has rewarded pupils of Alogboshie 1 & 2 Basic Schools, Achimota, who recently participated in a drawing competition as part of a Conservation Education Programme, for their efforts and participation.
During the Conservation Education Programme, the pupils were made to draw different kinds of wild plants and animals to help increase their appreciation of such species and also drum in the need to conserve them, and other natural resources of the country.
The drawings of over 40 pupils were graded on creativity and concept by some staff of the Division and the first 12 pupils were presented with prizes. The students who partook in the drawing competition and their teachers received souvenirs. The souvenir items included Green Ghana branded T’ shirts, mugs and pens.
The WD PR Manager, Ms Ernestina Anie, who led the PR team entreated the students to try as much as possible to always take care of and conserve natural resources, like trees and wildlife species, and also encourage others to do so.
