The family of the late Dr. Ben Nathan Donkor, the immediate past Executive Director of the Timber Industry Development Division ( TIDD) of Forestry Commission (FC) , has paid a courtesy call on the Chief Executive, Mr. John Allotey , and the Executive Management Team (EMT) of FC.
Dr. Donkor was also the Omanhene of Asante Akyem Obogu, with the stool name Nana Oduro Apenteng Darkwa III.
The visit was to formally invite the Commission to the burial and funeral rites (Dote Yie) of the late Omanhene which begins from 7th – 9th March 2023, at Asante Akyem Obogu in the Ashanti Region.
The CE in remembering Dr. Donkor, indicated that he was an affable and humble person , who loved to train others and always contributed meaningfully at meetings . He recalled him as a principled man who attained the highest position of Executive Director and the only Director to have handed over the very day he turned 60 years. “He left a good name and will be sorely missed”, the CE added.
The CE assured the family that the Commission will definitely be present at the funeral rites and requested that the family updates the Commission with the necessities to assist in a successful event.
He hoped that after the funeral rites, another Chief will be peacefully enstooled as the late Omanhene was a man of peace.
The family expressed appreciation to the Chief Executive and the EMT for the warm welcome and for speaking so well about the late Obogumanhene. They presented drinks, funeral posters and invitation to the CE and Commission to announce the burial and funeral rites.
