The Chief Executive of Forestry Commission, Mr. John Allotey and the Deputy Chief Executive, Hon. Martha Kwayie-Manu have attended a two-day seminar organized by the Timber Industry Development Division (TIDD) at the Forestry Commission Training Centre (FCTC), Akyawkrom.
The purpose of the seminar was to enable the Division make submissions on its operational activities for the year and deliberate on issues such as industry development and modernisation through initiatives such as the full automation of the Wood Identification App, the full implementation of the Ghana Wood Tracking system, sensitisation of staff and stakeholders on appropriate technology, operating systems, procedures as well as methods to adopt for more effective and efficient sawmilling, veneering, ply milling moulding and other downstream processing operations.
Also present at the meeting were Hon. Andy Osei Okrah, Director, Forestry Commission Training Centre, Area Managers as well as the Heads of Departments of the Timber Industry Development Division.
