The Human Resource Department (HR) climaxed the 2023 Health Week with a health walk and fun games. These activities were held to complete a weeklong of activities put together by the Department to mark the 2023 Edition of its annual Health Week celebrations.
The event commenced with a health walk which started from the premises of the Corporate Headquarters of the Forestry Commission (FC), through Okponglo and ended at the Mensah Sarbah Field at the University of Ghana.
Participants walked whilst displaying placards with educational messages of how to plant, nurture seedlings and wildlife conservation, with the aim of reiterating the key goal of the Forestry Commission.
After the health walk, the inter-divisional fun games commenced. The three Divisions in the Commission competed against each order in several games like tug of peace, lime and spoon, flip the bottle, soccer, musical chairs amongst others.
Both genders from the various Divisions took turns to partake in these games amidst drumming, singing and massive cheers from their supporters.
At the end of the games, the Forest Services Division emerged winners by coming first, Corporate Headquarters placed second, Timber Industry Development and Wildlife Divisions took the third and fourth positions respectively.
The Chief Executive of FC, Mr. John Allotey commended the HR Department for putting together such a great event, and thanked staff for participating in the various activities and also for spending their weekend at the fun games.
He then encouraged the senior staff of the Commission to actively participate in next year’s edition since their turn out and participation was not encouraging this year.
